The Old Power Station

Being involved right from the start on the conversion of this Grade II listed Old Power Station was a real pleasure, but also problematic. The original architectural drawings detailed spaces too tight to furnish. These were re-addressed, sub-divided and converted into five bespoke properties that retained the original features but allowed the spaces to flow, and as a result became more seamless and marketable.

Within each of the new five unique apartments I designed a sympathetic lighting scheme that enhanced the vaulted ceilings, exposed Edwardian steel and timber roof trusses. Extensive consideration was given to all the finishes used alongside the original brickwork and tiling. Bespoke staircases were designed using open Oak treads with dark grey powder-coated metalwork to celebrate the industrial feel of the space.
